Food waste recycling in flats

What’s next?

Step 1. We will deliver a small food waste bin (a kitchen caddy) to your home in September or October. This will include instructions on how to use it.

Step 2. We will install a communal food waste bin, near your other communal bins, in September or October.

Step 3. You will start using your kitchen caddy and taking food waste to your communal bin, from 14 October.

Step 4. We will collect food waste every week from the communal bins, from 21 October.

If you’re a property manager or landlord: get ready for the new service

Soon, food waste collections from the flats you manage will be compulsory. Please share your contact details with us so we can work with you to make sure the new service is introduced smoothly.

We will be in touch to confirm if you can have either 240l brown food waste bins and/or food waste bin housing units.

We will then arrange the delivery of bins, caddies and information leaflets to your property for you to distribute to your residents. Housing units are available on a first come first-served basis.

If you’re a tenant in a private flat: tell us who manages your block

Please tell us who your property manager or landlord is. We will then contact them to make arrangements for providing the new service.
