Premises selling or supplying alcohol, providing entertainment or providing hot food must have a premises licence.

Advertising the licence application
You must advertise on the premises and in a local paper. You must say that you’ve applied for a premises licence.
Advertising on the premises
You must display a notice of your licence application on the premises. It must stay up for 28 days. This starts on the day after the application is submitted.

The notice must be:
- printed on A3 blue paper and laminated
- properly displayed and clearly readable outside the premises
- not obscured by shutters
- displayed for the duration of the 28 day consultation period
Advertising in a newspaper
You must also send the notice to a local newspaper within 10 working days of receiving your application from us.
