Appeals
You cannot appeal against an inspection. However, if you’re unhappy with how the officer conducted the inspection you can contact our food safety team leader by emailing food@southwark.gov.uk. If you’re still unsatisfied, you can make a formal complaint by following the instructions on the food hygiene rating letter.
You can appeal to a magistrates’ court if you receive a hygiene improvement notice. You have a right to compensation if the court decides that a premises has been shut without proper reason or food has been wrongly taken away.
