Club premises certificate

You need a club premises certificate to authorise the supply of alcohol and regulated entertainment in a qualifying club.

Advertising the application

You must advertise on the premises and in a local newspaper that you’ve applied for a club premises certificate.

Advertising on the premises

A notice of your certificate application must be displayed on the premises during a period of 28 consecutive days. This starts on the day after the application is submitted.

The notice must be:

  • printed on A3 blue paper and laminated
  • displayed and readable outside the premises
  • not obscured by shutters
  • displayed for the duration of the 28 day consultation period

Advertising in a newspaper

You must also send a copy of the notice to a local newspaper. Do this within 10 working days of submitting the application.
