After you've applied
We will only issue your license after we finish all necessary inspections and checks and if the premises meet the standards.
Once the license is issued, you must only use the premises for the gambling activity listed on the license. It may also list some site-specific conditions.
Your licence does not expire, but there is a fee each year on the date it was issued.
Display your premises notice
You must display a notice in your premises window for 28 days saying you’ve made an application. You must also advertise your application in a local newspaper within 10 working days of making the application.
The notice in your window must be A4 or larger in size.
Download a notice of application sign (PDF 57.5 KB)
Make sure:
- the date on the notice matches the date that it is put up
- the notice stays readable for the full 28 days
- to laminate the notice for weatherproofing
- it is visible from the outside
Appealing a licence refusal
You can appeal to the magistrates’ court if your application is refused or if you object to any conditions listed on the licence.
