After you've applied for a venue licence
Once we receive your application, a licensing officer will contact you to schedule an inspection to make sure your premises meet the required standards. Our registrar will also visit the premises to make sure it is suitable for ceremonies.
You will receive your approval only after all the above inspections and checks have been carried out and the premises meet the required standards.
Advertising the licence application
You must also place a notice of your application in a local newspaper.

Once the newspaper publishes your notice, email a copy to us at licensing@southwark.gov.uk.
Appealing a licence refusal
You can appeal at a public hearing if your application is refused.
