How to report a child protection issue
If a child is in immediate danger call 999.
If a child is not in immediate danger but is at risk of harm, neglect or needs support refer them to the Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
MASH is the central point for all child safeguarding referrals in the borough. It ensures a coordinated, risk-assessed response to protect vulnerable children and their families.
MASH is a mix of experts from sectors, including:
- children’s social care
- the police
- community health services
- Southwark housing
- child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS)
- the youth justice service
- substance misuse and domestic abuse services
- South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust
- National Probation Service
This collaboration ensures comprehensive support, with 1 plan tailored to meet every family member's needs.
Check that the child lives in Southwark before referring them.
