Searchroom rules
Before you can access and view records and archival material, you must:
- wash and dry your hands thoroughly
- check in with the staff member on duty
- fill in and return the sign-in sheet, which confirms you’ll follow the rules
When using the searchroom, you must:
- follow staff guidance on how to handle materials
- use only a pencil to make notes
- ask staff before taking photos or making copies
- leave materials on the desk when you have finished using them
- use our public computers for accessing family or local history resources only, (there are computers in Southwark libraries for general use)
- keep all food and drink containers sealed and away from documents
If you have any questions, ask a member of staff.
