Fitting home adaptations
If you're finding it difficult to get into and around your home we may be able to fit adaptations.

Home Improvement Agency
Our Home Improvement Agency can arrange and oversee adaptations for:
- owner occupiers
- housing association tenants
- private tenants
A financial counsellor from the team will help you decide how you'll pay for the work. This could include:
- a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG)
- benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions
- a loan or mortgage
- self-funding
If you wish to use this service, you must first have an assessment by our occupational therapy team.
A Southwark council surveyor and contractor will then visit your home.
They will draw up a specification based on the assessment and get a price for the works.
Once funding has been agreed the surveyor will supervise the work.
All contractors are checked and approved to carry out works.
