Annual service charge

About the services we provide for leaseholders and freeholders who pay us a service charge. How and when to pay.

Paying when someone dies

When a homeowner of an ex-council home dies, we still need to send service charge information to whoever is dealing with their Estate.

The solicitor or legal representative should arrange to pay any outstanding service charges.

Let us know where to send future service charge information

You'll be able to upload a copy of the solicitor’s letter confirming this.

Or, if you’ve been appointed the legal representative, you can upload the legal document.

If the property is left to someone else

The new owner becomes responsible for paying service charges once the property has been legally transferred to them.

What we need

When you report the death to us, you’ll need to send us a copy of the death certificate and:

  • name of the person who has died
  • address of the property they owned
  • name of the solicitors or legal representative dealing with the Estate

Tell us about a death

Tell us once service

Tell Us Once is a service that lets you report a death to most government organisations in one go.
