Fee discounts
For mandatory, additional or selective licence applications:

- Gold Standard Charter landlords who have also signed up to the council’s finders’ fee scheme will not be charged the ‘part B’ fee
- registered charities receive 50% discount from their ‘part A’ and ‘part B’ fee where they provide housing that is let at below market rent or specifically designed and adapted to meet the needs of vulnerable people, disabled people, older people, or any other groups protected under the Equality Act 2010
Applying and paying offline
If you can't make an online payment contact us to arrange an alternative way to pay. You may be charged for the additional administration costs to process an invoice.
Email resi@southwark.gov.uk for a paper copy of the application form. We charge an additional £218 for paper applications (this includes the £55 invoice fee).
You will not be charged these additional administration charges if you have a valid reason for not being able to apply or pay online, including a disability.
Refunds
The part A fee covers the cost of processing the licence. Refunds will only be issued in exceptional circumstances and where we have not issued a draft licence.
You do not have to pay part B of the licensing fee if we do not issue a licence.
We do not refund fees if the property no longer needs the licence. For example, if the property becomes owner occupied or is no longer let as a house with multiple occupation (HMO) before the licence has expired.
