Book communal access for workers
We can book keys for your engineer to access your building’s boiler house, lift motor room, plant room, electrical intake cupboard or roof area.
If you're a leaseholder, you may require permission from our conveyancing team before the works can be carried out.
For instance - if you're replacing your property’s consumer unit or fuse box, you must receive approval first.
Emergency access
If they need access outside of working hours (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm):
- call 0800 952 4444
- or 020 7525 2600
Our repairs technical officer will attend to provide access.
Non-emergency access
You need to email communalkeyrequests@southwark.gov.uk to book a key.
You need to include the following in your email:
- the reason your engineer requires access
- the date they require access
- the name of the company the attending engineer works for
- your address
- the location where the works will take place, like the boiler house, lift motor room, plant room, electrical intake cupboard or roof are
- the engineer’s name and contact number
- a clear photo of the lock barrel
We need the lock barrel photo to make sure you get the correct key.
