Protected trees

It’s illegal to work on a protected tree without permission. Report any unauthorised work to the planning enforcement team.

You must apply for permission to work on a protected tree. This includes lopping, topping or felling.

We’ll send you our decision within:

• 8 weeks for trees protected by a TPO
• 6 weeks if the tree is in a conservation area
