Bin collections

If your bin was not collected there may be a reason. 

Before you report a missed collection check:

• which day your bins are supposed to be collected
• if you have a contaminated bin tag on your rubbish or recycling bin
• if you’re in the Walworth Road or Rye Lane areas and get a timed collection
• it’s after 4pm on your collection day

We collect waste and recycling Monday to Friday, but we may collect at weekends during the Christmas and New Year period. 

If we’ve put a tag on your recycling bin, this could be because it might contain:

• wrong items that cannot be recycled
• dirty items that have been contaminated by food and other liquids

Putting the wrong items in your recycling bin can spoil the rest of the recycling collected. 

Report missed collections of:

• green wheelie bins and black bin bags (general household rubbish)
• blue wheelie bins, blue boxes and clear bags (household recycling)
• brown wheelie bins (food or garden waste)
• communal bins for flats and estates
