We’re always looking for new additions to our collections. Your records contribute to Southwark’s history, capturing the narratives of our communities.

Lending us items
If you cannot donate an item to Southwark Archives, you can lend it to us.
We call this ‘a deposit’. A deposit is a long-term loan, typically for 10 years.
After 10 years, we’ll ask you if we can borrow it for longer. If we cannot contact you, we may assume you no longer want to maintain the item and may claim it as our property.
We’ll always try to contact you about extending the loan and will only keep the item if we cannot contact you after several attempts.
