If you have communal heating
If you have a communal ‘heating on demand’ system in your home it means we do not switch the heating on and off at certain times of the year.
Instead, the heating is always on, but is regulated automatically throughout the year by the outside air temperature.
It has 2 modes for winter and summer. When it changes to ‘summer’ or ‘winter’ depends on the weather over a 5-day period.
We monitor:
- the air temperatures every day
- longer-term weather forecasts
Elderly and vulnerable residents can request fan heaters (via our contact centre) outside of the heating season free of charge.
You can check the status of all communal breakdowns.
