Southwark recovery support service (RSS)

Southwark RSS is peer-led. It helps Southwark residents access support for their drug or alcohol use.

People with lived experiences encourage and inspire the recovery journey of others in need of support.

The service can help if you:

  • want support to access treatment
  • are in treatment and need a peer mentor
  • have lived experience of substance use or have been affected by someone's substance use and want to be a peer mentor

This service is provided by Janus Resonance Factor Limited.

Naloxone is a lifesaving medication. It is used to reverse or reduce the effects of an opioid overdose, including heroin. It is given to anyone showing signs of an opioid overdose or where an overdose is suspected.

You can give naloxone to another person while calling 999. It will not harm someone suspected of overdose if they have not used opioids. The aim is to reduce and prevent a drug-related death.

You can get overdose awareness training and naloxone kits for anyone who uses opioids in Southwark.

Contact CGL Southwark or the recovery support service for more information.

Needle exchange services

Get free injecting equipment if you use drugs. This includes image and performance-enhancing substances. Sharps bins are also available.

Look-out for pharmacies providing a needle exchange service. Contact CGL Southwark for confidential support and advice.
