Information for pensioners

The pension is guaranteed for 10 years. If you die within that time and are under 75, a death grant will be payable.

For example, if you were to die after 3 years on pension, a further 7 years' pension would be payable as a lump sum.

We will decide who to pay any death grant to, but we will take your wishes into account. To help us to do this, you can fill in a form where you can nominate who you want the benefit to be paid to.

If you have not completed a nomination form, or wish to revise your nomination, contact the pensions team who will arrange for a form to be sent to you.
