Council spending

We commit to publishing spending data on all goods and services each month. In August 2010, it was decided that all spending over £500 would be published. In October 2012, the amount was reduced to £250.

Submit enquiries about council spending via the Freedom of Information process. Media enquiries should go through our press office: email press@southwark.gov.uk.

A vendor in our spending publications may appear more than once. This may be for several reasons, including:

  • we have made more than 1 payment to the vendor within the relevant period
  • the vendor has more than 1 address
  • we have more than 1 account with the same vendor

Therefore, it's necessary to publish multiple lines for what may be, or may seem to be, the same payee.

As a general rule, we can recover VAT. If VAT is non-recoverable or inseparable, there will be a note in the payment schedule.

The abbreviation T/A (trading as) is used within a vendor name where company names have been changed due to mergers or take-overs.
