School and education inclusion service
Our Family Early Help school service is for children who risk exclusion or have attendance problems.
We want to improve children's outcomes and help them regularly attend school.
All family members and significant people in a child's life help to support a plan for them.
It captures the needs of the whole family, not just the needs of the child.
The process addresses identified needs, like bad childhood experiences and other risk factors.
We focus on families identified by schools as needing 'in-home' support.
What schools need to know
Our FEH service offers targeted support to schools through the Team Around the School (TAS) model. It encourages collaboration when working with vulnerable children.

Each school gets a single point of contact in the Family Early Help service, for seamless communication and support.
This contact facilitates termly visits, offering expertise and access to additional resources.
The education inclusion team:
-
provides guidance on exclusions and attendance
-
coordinates whole family support for at-risk children
-
aims to stop permanent exclusion
Schools should tell us about exclusions or attendance problems quickly so we can provide help as soon as possible.
We carry out annual reviews to check the impact of our interventions.
We aim to continuously improve our safeguarding practices.
