Peveril Gardens
Peveril Gardens sits on the roof of a 1960s podium at Peveril House. By adding a public staircase and beautiful new planting, it has been transformed. The space is both a garden for residents and a place for the wider public to enjoy during the day.
This was a collaborative project designed by:
- Sanchez Benton Architects
- artist Gabriel Kuri
- award-winning horticulturalist Nigel Dunnett
By working closely with the residents of Peveril House and nearby estates, we're proud to have delivered a new garden with access for all.
Community benefits
Forma Arts and Media will be based here and manage the ground floor space to include:
- 6 artist studios rented in line with Mayor of London’s guide on affordability
- a café and community space with a dedicated Community Engagement Curator
- a resident-engaged arts and cultural programme
- at least one open studio event a year
- opportunities for studio artists to engage with residents and wider audiences
The project contributes to:
- our Great Estates Programme, improving landscaping and amenities for local residents
- our ambition to deliver new affordable workspace
Funding
The project is funded by the New Homes Bonus programme, Cleaner Greener Safer fund and the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund.
