Planning payments

You need to pay a fee for most planning applications.

Use the fee calculator or view the planning fee list to find out how much you need to pay.

If you apply on the Planning Portal, you'll be told the cost. You can pay by card before submitting. If you apply to us for planning permission by email then you can pay using our online payment form

We charge an extra £100 for postal applications. This is because of the time and resources needed to handle, scan and store your paper documents.

If you submit an invalid application, we will charge you extra. You'll need to pay this before re-submitting.

Always use our our online validation checklists before submitting your application.

If you need advice during the application process, use our pre-application service.

Fast track service

If you need a decision within five working days after a consultation has ended, use our fast track service.

Refunds

We will refund you if you withdraw an application within three to five days after you submit it to us. But, we must not have started to process it. If we have, then it is unlikely that we will be able to issue you with a refund. You can apply for a refund via the Planning Portal, or by emailing Planning.Enquiries@southwark.gov.uk

We do not offer refunds once an application has been made valid. But, you can submit a new application for the same site within 12 months with no fee.
