Consultation
Applications will be subject to a consultation for the public, council departments and partners like the police.
The consultation runs for up to 28 days. During this time people can raise any concerns or lodge an objection to the event.
Details of the event will be sent to:
- ward councillors
- residents
- tenants associations
- other local stakeholders, for example, park friends groups
We may ask you to provide extra information or meet with objectors to discuss their concerns.
Residents can sign up to hear about consultations for large and major events.
Safety Advisory Group
Applications for large events, or an event which may have a significant impact on the local area may need to be assessed by the Safety Advisory Group.
This is a panel made up of people from:
- highways
- licensing
- police
- fire service
- environmental health
- building control
Event organisers will be asked to present their event plans at a Safety Advisory Group meeting. Depending on the size and nature of the event, you may need to attend additional Safety Advisory Group meetings leading up to the event date.
