Heat networks

We apply a single tariff across Southwark to calculate weekly heating costs for tenants.

If we do not have enough data to calculate your charge we'll put you on an 'average consumer’ weekly charge.

We'll then review how much heating you're using annually (or more frequently where required). 

We'll increase or decrease your charge depending on how much you use. 

Metered

You pay tailored heating charges weekly.

The charge is calculated according to the borough-wide tariff. 

This is made up of a:

• standing charge which depends on the size of your property
• variable charge which depends on the amount of heat you use, measured by a heat meter

If your home has a prepay meter you'll pay directly to an external billing agent.

No meter

If you do not have a meter you pay a flat rate for heating charges each week.

The charge depends on:

• your property size
• the heating service provided (space heating only, hot water only, or both)
