Southwark Internships: Shape future paths to success

Toni Sanni

Toni sanni

My name is Toni Sanni, I am 21 years old and one of 12 children in the family. If my best  friend were to describe me in three words, they would say I am ‘attentive’, ‘focussed’ and ‘funny.’ I am always up for a good laugh.

What I have been most proud of to date is securing my current internship, sounds cliché right? But it is genuinely how I feel. The biggest risk I have taken so far is deciding not to go to university. This was a scary a decision at first as I have always been told that you need to go to university to be successful. Speaking to Eleanor Kelly on the first day of my internship showed me that regardless of not going to university, one could still be successful. There are multiple paths to success. Hearing how many trials and tribulations Eleanor faced on her journey to success, showed me that with drive and perseverance, I can get to where ever I desire regardless of my age gender race or educational background.

I was drawn to this internship to help get a step into my career and to gain valuable knowledge and experiences for future work opportunities. In my time here, I have become more interested in Southwark Council; this is because of the commendable work ethic and the amazing people I have met so far. I hope to continue gaining different skills that are transferable.
