Southwark Internships: Shape future paths to success

Osayuwamen Roberts

Osayuwamen Roberts

My name is Osayuwamen (Uwa for short) Roberts, I’m 22 years old and I’m an  Organisational Development intern.

Something interesting about me is that I’m a huge politics and history junkie, I love reading books, listening to podcasts and watching documentaries about these topics whenever I get the chance. If my friends were to describe me in three words they’d say I’m an introvert, funny and geeky (evidence for the geekiness is earlier in this paragraph)

The biggest risk I’ve taken so far has been joining an IT firm as a software tester trainee. When I graduated university last year was invited to join an IT firm as a trainee software tester despite limited experience in the field. I found I was not a good fit for the role but I learned a lot of valuable lessons while I was there. My proudest accomplishment to date is graduating university as it was the culmination of years of hard work.

I was drawn to Southwark’s Internship scheme because of my interest in government/politics and the valuable work experience it can give me.
